SAND5G knowledge and capacity building activities aim to elevating cybersecurity competencies and promoting cybersecurity values and ethical principles. Synergies will be built with international researchers, policy makers, e.g., DG Institutions (ENISA, ECCC, DG CNECT, 5G PPP, 6G SNS JU, EASME, COSME), vertical industries (e.g. telcos, security, health, space) and existing programmes, e.g. CEF-Digital Skills Platform, Erasmus + with focus on enhancing digital skills.

Comprehensive Cybersecurity Training for SAND5G Stakeholders and National Authorities

Training material will span from general cybersecurity training, to documentation for the training of the SAND5G platform and components as well as material and guidelines for EU policies and regulations. Training courses target 5G stakeholders, vertical services, the general public, as well as  technical personnel of the infrastructures and the National Authorities.

Various open education and training platforms will be adopted for the general training material, while the SPHYNX Cyber Range platform offers cyber security training that covers a comprehensive spectrum of known and emerging security & privacy threats with asset emulation and simulation at different layers of the implementation stack & model driven customization of cyber range exercises. Through the proposed platform, operators, vertical providers, national Authorities etc. will be able to create security training programmes and ways of assessing the trainees who take them. This training will help 5G stakeholders‘ staff in advancing the capacity building and knowledge for internal operational actions and processes (e.g., security assessment, security incident response, reporting etc.)

Enhancing 5G Security through Upskilling and Strategic Collaboration

The project will also contribute in upskilling, knowledge and capacity building providing training, and connecting the 5G stakeholders and security providers with the National Authorities and EU policymakers. This will enable better information flow between EU companies and authorities, increase awareness and support quick dissemination of new information about new threats.

General public and society will benefit from education and training not only for the technological innovations of future networks, but also about security and privacy and their rights inside the digital world.
