A paper developed as part of the SAND5G EU project was presented at the 11th IEEE Conference on Network Functions Virtualization and Software-Defined Networking (IEEE NFV-SDN 2025) which was held from the 10th – 12th November 2025, in Athens.
The paper, titled A Practical Assessment of IDS and IPS Capabilities in a 5G Network Testbed, focuses on evaluating the performance of IDS and IPS in a 5G network environment.
The paper was authored by Nikolas Filippatos, Panagiotis Papaioannou, Dr. Dionysia Varvarigou, Dr. Kostas Lampropoulos, Prof. Spyros Denazis, and Prof. Odysseas Koufopavlou. The conference was a great opportunity to share the relevant findings and discuss practical aspects of 5G security with other researchers and industry professionals.
